Michael, Taki, members of the EXI WG: The XML Security WG has been chartered to review use cases and requirements related to XML Canonicalization, XML Signature and other XML Security specifications in order to update these core specifications appropriately [1]. Algorithms, security and performance are of specific interest. We are very interested in use cases and requirements from the EXI working group related to XML Security, as well as any issues you may have discovered with the current recommendations. Is the EXI working group able to share any specific security use cases and requirements with the XML Security WG? We are currently working on a draft requirements document so input would be timely. In addition, we received a position paper at the Workshop on Next Steps for XML Signature and XML Encryption held last year [2]. It mentioned two possibilities - signing/verification at the EXI level and lightweight signing in general. Is the EXI working group able to help us understand these approaches in more detail and the associated requirements? Thank you regards, Frederick Frederick Hirsch, Nokia Chair XML Security WG [1] http://www.w3.org/2008/02/xmlsec-charter.html [2] http://www.w3.org/2007/xmlsec/ws/papers/13-williams/ This message should complete XML Security WG ACTION-23
