Changes for Connections and Initial Environment

Until we have the build process working for me, this attachment will have to do.

I've changed the following sections:

* section 2.2, just after figure 4, I moved all the language about
connections and their variety of possibilities to section 2.4.

* section 2.4, this section has been expanded

* section 2.5.1 was added about the initial environment

I think section 2.4.1 belongs elsewhere in the document but I didn't
make that change now.
