Alessandro,

First, I don't think that verbosity is the problem with XML Schema.
Secondly, the alternative called for more verbose attribute names instead.

I think that my suggested syntax is more obvious and easier to remember.

Three in favor. One seems to be on the fence and leaning away.
No word from the chair or W3C yet.
