FYI -----Original Message----- From: chairs-request@w3.org On Behalf Of Steven Pemberton Sent: Wednesday, 2008 July 02 8:06 To: Steve Bratt; timbl@w3.org Cc: Shane McCarron; Roland Merrick Subject: CR Transition request for CURIE Syntax 1.0 Tim, Steve, This is a transition request for: CURIE Syntax 1.0 A syntax for expressing Compact URIs Current Editor's Draft at http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2008/ED-curie-20080617/ 1. Document title, URIs, estimated publication date CURIE Syntax 1.0 A syntax for expressing Compact URIs http://www.w3.org/TR/curie/ As soon as permission has been granted 2. Document Abstracts and Status sections (Below) 3. Record of the decision to request the transition http://www.w3.org/2008/06/19-xhtml-minutes#item04 4. Report of important changes to the document Largely editorial. See: http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2008/ED-curie-20080617/curie-diff.html 5. Evidence that the document satisfies group's requirements CURIEs were designed to overcome the difficulties using QNames in attribute values for representing URIs. The use of CURIEs in RDFa and the wide implementation of RDFa has shown the suitability of CURIEs for this purpose. 6. Evidence that dependencies with other groups were met (or not) The design was in combination with the Semantic Web Deployment Working Group, who had the main dependency in the joint work on RDFa. 7. Evidence that the document has received wide review Please see the last call disposition of comments. http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2008/curie-lc-doc-20080618.html 8. Evidence that issues have been formally addressed Please see the Disposition of Comments document above. 9. Objections None. 10. Implementation information CURIEs are a central part of RDFa [http://www.w3.org/TR/rdfa-syntax/] which already has a number of implementations. There is an ongoing implementation report at http://www.w3.org/2006/07/SWD/RDFa/implementation-report/ 11. Patent disclosures None disclosed. 12. Abstract and Status sections Below Steven Pemberton and Roland Merrick For the XHTML2 WG Abstract The aim of this document is to outline a syntax for expressing URIs in a generic, abbreviated syntax. While it has been produced in conjunction with the XHTML 2 Working Group, it is not specifically targeted at use by XHTML Family Markup Languages. Note that the target audience for this document is Language designers, not the users of those Languages. Status of this Document This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. Other documents may supersede this document. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at http://www.w3.org/TR/. This document is a Candidate Recommendation of the CURIE Syntax specification. It is based upon comments received during the last call period, upon work done in the definition of [XHTML2], and upon work done by the RDF-in-HTML Task Force, a joint task force of the Semantic Web Best Practices and Deployment Working Group and XHTML 2 Working Group. It is considered mature and stable by the working group. A record of how the comments from the last call period were addressed is available at http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2008/curie-lc-doc-20080618.html . An implementation report is available at http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2008/curie-impl-report.html. The working group invites comments on this draft through 30 July 2008. Comments should be addressed to www-html-editor@w3.org. All comments sent to that address are available in a (public archive).
