How should they include our charter responsibility for 
canonicalization?

The XML Core WG would prefer that the XSS WG take over all
responsibility for C14N from the XML Core WG.

ACTION to Henry:  Let appropriate folks know that the 
XML Core WG would prefer that the XSS WG take over all
responsibility for C14N from the XML Core WG.

Henry will have a draft call for review for tomorrow's telcon.

ACTION to Henry (by Feb 5):  Either create some XML 1.0 5th Ed 
specific tests OR change the IR at

to say "*will be* available".

Note that there will be some tests currently in the test suite
that failed for the 4th Ed that will now succeed for the 5th.

Richard has updated the version at 
http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2006/09/xmlbase-2e/
The patent disclosure paragraph has been amended in accord 
with Ian's mail, and the reference to RFC 3987 now has a 
note saying that it will be replaced by the real thing when 
we go to Rec.

We will plan to publish this as a second PER in the March
timeframe with the understanding it can't go to Rec until 
the IRI RFC is republished.
