All, At the last meeting I said I was going to provide an update of activities, which I am involved with and that can be of interest to this group. Ocean Science Interoperability Experiment Phase II Lead by OOStethys to advance use of SOS in the marine community. report here: http://www.oostethys.org/ogc-oceans-interoperability-experiment/report2folder/oceansie2 At the end of the report you can find a partial mapping from SensorML to IEEE 1451 PUCK: Is an instrument protocol specification lead by MBARI that will be advance within OGC. Kickoff meeting of this SWE is tomorrow http://www.opengeospatial.org/projects/groups/puck1.0swg As part of OOSTethys/MMI development we have a web tool to create a minimum SensorML with controlled vocabularies from ontologies at MMI, here: http://code.google.com/p/oostethys/wiki/SmlMor It is a very early prototype that can be used by sensor manufacturers and others to create rich SensorML documents OGC is seeking comments to the SWECommon model: ( provides a model to describe how the data is actually encoded as well as a model to encode the data within SWE) http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/requests/63 OGC is seeking comments on Sensor Planning Service SPS ( feasibility and controlling of sensor tasks) http://www.opengeospatial.org/pressroom/pressreleases/1152 MMI is continuing having bi-weekly meetings to advance the MMI device ontology : http://marinemetadata.org/community/teams/ontdevices The MMI technical lead will available in 2 weeks and we plan to meet and advance possible synergies with SSN-XG cheers, -Luis -- Luis Bermudez Ph.D. Coastal Research Technical Manager Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA) bermudez@sura.org - Office: (202) 408-8211 1201 New York Ave. NW Suite 430, Washington DC 20005
