Re http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xg-ssn/2009Mar/0001.html: 1) The principal differences of interest that I see is that we are looking at specifying environmental sensors (hmm, is this true? don't know that it is) with relatively low-frequency exchange of data and command information; whereas they are specifying human-centered sensors with relatively high-frequency exchange of data and command information. The 'environmental' vs 'other' question may be worth clarifying. If we are not just environmental, then there is more overlap than we might think. In any case, their model may be informative to our own. 2) They should look very closely at IEEE 1451, if they have not done so already. It is exhaustive, or at least exhausting, in the detail of its model. 3) It is not clear what they are doing that would be of direct applicability on our project?
