For recognition, we introduced a number of more specific requirements instead of a blanket event requirement: FPR21. The web app should be notified that capture starts. FPR22. The web app should be notified that speech is considered to have started for the purposes of recognition. FPR23. The web app should be notified that speech is considered to have ended for the purposes of recognition. FPR24. The web app should be notified when recognition results are available. I propose that we do the same for TTS, and replace R9 with the following: 1. The web app should be notified when TTS playback starts. 2. The web app should be notified when TTS playback finishes. 3. The web app should be notified when the audio corresponding to a TTS <mark> element is played back. Are any other TTS events needed? /Bjorn On Wed, Dec 8, 2010 at 11:47 AM, Olli Pettay <Olli.Pettay@helsinki.fi> wrote: > R9 wording is a bit strange, but yes, web app should get > notifications about synthesis of text. > > > -Olli > > > On 12/08/2010 12:42 PM, Dan Burnett wrote: >> >> Group, >> >> This is the last of the original requirements to discuss and prioritize >> based on our ranking approach [1]. >> >> This email is the beginning of a thread for questions, discussion, and >> opinions regarding our first draft of Requirement 9 [2]. >> >> Please discuss via email as we agreed at the Lyon f2f meeting. >> Outstanding points of contention will be discussed live at an upcoming >> teleconference. >> >> -- dan >> >> [1] >> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xg-htmlspeech/2010Oct/0024.html >> [2] >> >> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xg-htmlspeech/2010Oct/att-0001/speech.html#r9 >> >> >> > > > -- Bjorn Bringert Google UK Limited, Registered Office: Belgrave House, 76 Buckingham Palace Road, London, SW1W 9TQ Registered in England Number: 3977902
