Introduction: Bastian Hofmann (VZnet)

Hi everyone,

a quick introduction from me as well: I am Bastian Hofmann, Software
Developer at VZnet Networks, the company behind the three largest german
based social networks (studiVZ and meinVZ, which are essentially only two
frontends for the same platform and the separated schülerVZ)[1].

We are already implementing OpenSocial, OExchange and OEmbed and are now
looking actively into opening our network up further, not only to be able to
federate with other networks, but also as a way to connect our existing
platforms. Currently we are hoping to have a federation running internally
as a first milestone by the end of the year, but real work on this will
probably not be starting before summer.

I'm also active in the OpenSocial Foundation and am a committer and PMC
member at the Apache Shindig project (which is an OpenSocial container
implementation) [2]
