Hi, As far as I remember OASIS' 3W was based on the schema of the OCHA one. Of course they might have changed/adapted it. IMHO the W3/Situational Awareness case is possibly the most important set of data models for the W3C incubator to "move forward". As Paola points out there is no "formal standard" in this area, and neither the OCHA 3W or Sahana model is "it", and groups like iMMAP have their own model in their OASIS system. So there's a real chance to make a difference by exploring both the data model and the interop model. My suggestion: 1. identify a preliminary "intermediate" model for 3W/Situational Awareness Interop, acknowledging that it will have to be extensible and most likely changed/updated when confronted with "the real world". 2. encourage Sahana/OCHA or anyone else with a solution in this space to move ahead with modeling (or even implementing) the interop process, throwing the conceptual results back into the model. Just 2cents. I was under the impression that W3 was one of the use cases that this group had on its agenda, and that Mandada had agreed to work on analysis of W3 Use Case and OCHA Schema (?http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/eiif/wiki/2008-07-17). Since the remit of this group is to investigate the path forward via an emergency management systems information interoperability framework, I would have thought that looking at the interoperability between these two systems - both of which are in use in the field - would be quite useful. cheers Paul C
