Likewise, there are no codec/patent issues with MusicXML that should affect things in the W3C. However, MusicXML does seem well out of scope for the audio working group, at least at this stage. As Al says, it is a relevant technology in terms of user workflows. However, native MIDI playback within the browser does seem like it could be in scope - and potentially very useful for sheet music and other MusicXML-related applications.
