"An instance data node is created if the binding on the control is just a name [...] If the name is not a valid QName, the xforms-binding-error event is dispatched to the control and the control is bound to the empty sequence." https://www.w3.org/community/xformsusers/wiki/XForms_2.0#model-ui-initialize Do we need this rule ("If the name is not a valid QName")? My feeling is that if it is not a valid Qname then this whole section doesn't apply. Steven
