Refresh action

(This thought emerged while rewriting deferred updates).

Just out of interest, has anyone ever come on an occasion where they  
needed the refresh action?

I understand the need for rebuild and recalculate, less the need for  
revalidate, but I can't imagine any use case for refresh.
