Hi all, My name is Jan Vidar Krey, I use "Jan Vidar" (if in doubt how to pronounce that, use "Jan" or "jv" for short :) I work for Opera Software in Oslo, and have worked on bringing the Opera browser to various embedded platforms for the past two years. These platforms and devices range from small mobile phones to gaming devices, such as the Nintendo Wii. I'm a programmer and technologist by heart, formally educated as a software engineer, and have been working as a software architect for 5 years now. I have worked on many different technologies in the past, including scalable web solutions, streaming video, information kiosk design, peer to peer distribution, NAT traversal, firewalls, etc. - to name a few. I am new to W3C work however, so please bear with me... :) Currently, my field is not UI design, but UI frameworks. I see room for improvements especially on devices with limited screen estate. These devices are rarely scrutinized as much as mainstream devices, and are easy to overlook for a variety of reasons. Security information is not as easily accessible, and so on. As mobile internet is on the rise, I hope this working group can focus on these issues, and others. I'm looking forward to work with you all, and hope to see you all in Dublin.
