Introduction - Maritza Johnson

My name is Maritza Johnson, I'm a PhD student at Columbia University.
My adviser is Steve Bellovin, and my research interests are in human
computer interaction and security. I'm currently working on a project
with FSTC (Authenticating the Financial Institution to the Consumer),
where my role is developing user studies for evaluating proposed
solutions to the online authentication problem.

I've been studying human computer interaction for a little over a
year, but this is my first semester at Columbia. I've conducted a few
user studies, mostly on a small scale. While my experience is
limited, I have read a number of papers relating to the area, and
would be more than happy to talk about the user studies and results
I've read about, or suggest papers for those who want to do some
background reading.

My participation in the working group is mostly as a representative
from FSTC. The topic lines up nicely with my areas of interest, and
I'm hoping insights gained from participating will help guide my
research in school. It's unlikely I'll attend in-person meetings
outside the NYC area, but I will be phoning in when I'm unable to
travel.
