Finally got it working but I had to use Chrome. For some reason both IE
and FF refused to take me to the pay pal page that asks me for my credit
card.

just retry it. I had problems with the page working correctly - and i
know that some people have had problems with paypal itself.
For some reason, the whole process seems flakey.
