Meeting minutes
Minutes
meeting starts reviewing the minutes
<kaz> [9]Nov-15
[9] https://www.w3.org/2021/11/15-wot-discovery-minutes.html
from the discussion on the query entry point from #231, now we
have 2 PR from mccool and farshid. Today we will discussing
this
the rest of the minutes are fine, and since no objections are
presented the minutes are published
PRs and Issues
<kaz> [10]PRs
[10] https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pulls
McCool: we have these 2 PR that address the JsonPath issue
McCool: also, farshid create a summary issue for the Json Path
issue #234
PR 235
<kaz> [11]PR 235 - WIP: Make JSONPath optional
[11] https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/235
McCool: in my PR I marked the JsonPath as informative and
edited the search intro
<kaz> [12]6.2.2.4.1 Syntactic search: JSONPath
[12] https://pr-preview.s3.amazonaws.com/w3c/wot-discovery/235/22967c4...mmccool:a5bef7a.html#jsonpath-semantic
PR 237
<kaz> [13]PR 237 - Changes to make jsonpath informative
[13] https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/237
McCool: I think we could merge farshid's PR and maybe just add
some sentences
<kaz> [14]6.2.2.4.1 Syntactic search: JSONPath
[14] https://pr-preview.s3.amazonaws.com/w3c/wot-discovery/237/22967c4...farshidtz:a0a17c2.html#jsonpath-semantic
McCool is reviewing the PR of farshid
McCool: I would like to ask for consensus for merging the PR of
farshid
since no objections are presented the PR of farshid is merged
Issue 231
<kaz> [15]Issue 231 - Create Basic Query entry point
[15] https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/231
McCool: next thing is issue #231
McCool: since no entry point for search is going to be created,
it makes sense to close this issue
… nevertheless, Farshid suggest in this issue to remove XPATH
from the spec
… we should discuss this
Andrea:: maybe the decision for dropping this feature could
depend on which implementations actually implement XPATH
McCool: I need to do some research on which implementations
have XPath
McCool: maybe we should create a specific issue for this topic,
and close the current one (#231) since the topics are different
McCool is closing the issue #231 with some points that have
consensus
Issue 238
<kaz> [16]Issue 238 - Discuss XPath
[16] https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/238
McCool now is creating the new Issue for addressing the issue
of having XPath removed or left in the spec
<McCool> [17]https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/238
[17] https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/238
mccool asks ktoumura about XPath and if it is suitable, since
his experience with either XPath and SPARQL
now he is documenting the question and discussion derived in
the issue #238
McCool: we could provide a bunch of exmaples of how to express
semantics of common JsonPath or Xpath queries in SPARQL
mccool is writing down some consensus points on issue #238
McCool: we are running out of time, so we are going to close
the meeting
McCool: the issue seems to have a clear direction, let's
comment on this and solve it next time
