Greetings to all, hoping to see W3C actively contribute to creating Open Standards which enable the proliferation of the Web of Things.

My employer is Plantronics and since the year 2000 I have, on behalf of Plantronics, taken an active role in the development of Bluetooth standards. Primarily we are an audio and acoustics company, however like many companies our products are becoming more connected.

I attended the Berlin WOT Workshop and showed a prototype device called WC1 which was connected by Bluetooth to a Chrome laptop and could send motion tracking information via a WebRTC channel.

In recent months I have taken part in the Internet Working Group which has been responsible for creating the IP Support Service, HTTP Proxy Service and GATT RESTful APIs'. In particular IP Support Service is the Bluetooth service which enabled 6LoPAN connections over BLE, an IETF RFC describes how to use IPSP.

I am also working in the Mesh Working Group, details of that to follow.

I will not be able to attend the next F2F as it clashes with a Bluetooth meeting in Santa Clara.

Finally Plantronics is also actively taking part in the FIDO Alliance to enable the use of BLE devices as a 2-nd factor in 2 factor authentication systems.
