I have some concern about restriction on the applicability of the readonly attribute on some of the form elements. The readonly attribute should be applicable to all form elements that can change. This means that the elements that should not support the readonly attribute is the output and button elements. I do not see good reasons to not support readonly attributes on checkbox, radio and select elements. >From my point of view for those elements have the same requirement in regards readonly functionality that the input element have. That is why they should also support the readonly attribute. The support of the readonly attribute for those elements will make the spec more consistent and it will also simplify the creation of a readonly version of a web page.
