Dear Kiyoshi-san: The DSMA has established a special section for promoting and bridging global standardization efforts, as you can see in the following org chart, which shows the sub-sections run by “core members” out of the 200+ member companies: [http://www.dsma.tw/managsys/userfiles/images/EN_120X145CM_OUTLINE(%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E7%B5%84%E7%B9%94%E5%9C%96)(1).jpg] Previously we had joined the effort to initiate the Web-based Signage Business Group back in 2012. We are also an integral part of the earlier standardization efforts at POPAI in U.S.A where we helped establish device profiles for signage. I expect we can contribute in similar ways for the new WG effort. If accepted as a 3.2 External Organization, we will designate a liaison contact point with W3C and help communicate between our member companies and W3C. As you can see in the DSMA org chart, our organization is inclusive of companies that directly impact the global digital signage landscape. I believe our participation will help make the proposed standard more representative of cross-industry needs, and enable faster industry adoption with compliant products that people can actually deploy. Thanks in advance for your consideration. John. Excerpt from the DSMA.TW website: About DSMA Taiwan Officially established on November, 2008, the Digital Signage Special Interest Group (DS SIG) is a private organization comprised of voluntary manufacturers with the goal to develop and enhance the competitiveness of the ICT hardware and software, system integration and R&D industries. I want to know how the DSMA contributes W3C standardization. Could you tell me the standardization activities of the DSMA? Could you estimate how many W3C members support to establish WG in DSMA members? Last year the event drew over 500 attendees globally. I believe it will be a great platform to amplify our work and raise industry awareness. > > > John C. Wang > Chief Global Officer, DSMA. >
