I'm not arguing one way or the other, I'm just mentioning that this argument was pretty strongly made by EKR and others in the past. I think that consistency is a worthwhile goal, even if it might be relatively low priority (behind things like correctness and capability, for example). And it was certainly the case that Promises weren't ready when we last looked at them seriously. That is no longer the case. But any proposal for a change would need to be carefully constructed.
