The term "browsing context" has not been exposed to web developers in any web platform API so far, and it's a safe bet that web developers won't already know precisely what it is. It's also worth pointing out that the definition of browsing context is somewhat in flux (precisely because it's not web-developer exposed); we're currently working on transitioning that single concept into three: browsing context, browsing session, and top-level navigable.
