@bradisbell no, sanitation is different from removal. DeviceInfo and track labels are supposed to match. The spec could be clearer about this, but that's my reading of _"[MUST return the label of the object's corresponding source](https://w3c.github.io/mediacapture-main/getusermedia.html#dom-mediastreamtrack-label)"_. In order to be effective, sanitation would need to apply to allexposures. I don't think users would expect browsers to leak personally identifiable information like their full name in a camera/microphone API, even behind permission. Thanks for checking. I'll try to consolidate the language around label to make this clearer. -- GitHub Notification of comment by jan-ivar Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/mediacapture-main/issues/747#issuecomment-731689928 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
