That is not a rendering issue: I didn't put any text inside the boxes. What kind of text will be useful there? AV1 spec puts some mix of frame type and layer inside the box. That looks good when there is only temporal layering and frame/box = temporal_unit, but looks less clear when spatial layering is involved.
