BTW, I feel the pain of the Semantic MediaWiki and Dabblet problems, and we hope to spend the summer focusing on alleviating some of that drag.

Last sunday another Adobe-hosted Doc Sprint

registered/25% noshow) resulted in over 800 edits [1] to the wiki,
onboarded about 10 new contributors and smoothly transitioned over to
the official warm-up-party for famous beyond tellerrand conference

We received quite a bit of negative but constructive feedback on e.g.

Sprints I had organized in Berlin and Zurich complained that
shortcomings reported about 15 months back are still present to the

*Impressions from the event*


…which we originally intended to run in a beach bar setting. Lacking a
beach bar we ended up in a back yard under an old gas station from the
50s, where palm trees, monkeys, some nerd infrastructure and interwebs
and an impressive handmade burger and awards-winning-sausages BBQ has
been added.

Before lunch Aaron Gustafson gave a very special and profound fun speech
on the history of BBQ sauce (slides are online

when some Chattanooga whiskey and BBQ sauce action even added more tasty
details to the event. Not to mention the 480 beers, the cooler full of
Red Bull (thanks for sponsoring!) and the numerous soft drinks that have
been absorbed over the day and at the warm-up-party in the evening,
where about 150 people partied until the police told us to go home… :D



*Oh, the deck chairs!*


Yeah. I love useful swag. There you go, we had produced 20 of them and
gave them all away to our top contributors of the day. No leftovers -
sorry! :)




*What we accomplished (and oddities found)*


Our community experts tracked the work of their focus group. Here are

*HTML Elements focus group, led by Paul Verbeek

The HTML elements group most of the time consisted of four people, Aaron
Gustafson, Horia Dragomir, Michael Kühnel and Paul Verbeek. They worked

documented. The group made decisions on what to do with deprecated
elements (document them, stating it's deprecated an why, and write in
the past tense). And they say they had a lot of fun! :)

*JavaScript focus group, led by Rodney Rehm

The bit smaller JS focus group worked on the Number object

Francesco actually spent most of the day giving introductionary sessions
to 10+ new contributors to WebPlatform.org, most of which joined the CSS
focus group after. The JS APIs group added examples to the Web Storage

created and set up some missing API listing pages

Hans and his group focussed on concepts, tutorials and beginners docs. 6
pages got revised and updated, 2 new pages have been created. 4 pages
received updates and have still open ends, 2 others definetely need more

*CSS focus group led by Christan Schaefer

This group identified the following pages as being imported from MDN or
MSDN, and reworked them according to the style guide:

selectors/pseudo-elements/::before
selectors/first-letter
selectors/first-line
functions/translate()
functions/translateX()
functions/translateY()
functions/translate3d()
properties/font-variant
properties/text-shadow
properties/transform
properties/object-fit
properties/zoom
properties/left
properties/right
syntax/important!

They also went through *every single CSS property* and *removed all
prefixed example code*, just leaving the unprefixed CSS in there.

The group has found a lot of CSS property pages that had an empty "CSS
Object Model Property" table cell. Or a wrong one, e.g.
"element.style.". A few of those got corrected.
A number of oddities have been noticed, including a redundant
description of CSS font properties:
- below the css/fonts/ path (e.g.
http://docs.webplatform.org/wiki/css/fonts/font-variant), as well as…
- below the css/properties/ (e.g.
http://docs.webplatform.org/wiki/css/properties/font-variant).
Is there some greater intent behind that or should we do a merge here?
