Re: Community Telcon Agenda, 13 May 2014

I can't attend this and next week but will send a report on our (successful) doc sprint later this week. Blog post in pipeline as well. Will also get back to the offline thread (had too much on the plate this and last week).

Here is the gist of what I would have to say today: I believe we should rethink the way we support WPD community events. Either we encourage people to organize community events by offering our support and have resources to do so - or we clearly say that community driven WPDs will be on their own. Putting out cheese with an offer to help - compare our Doc-Sprint-in-a-box - and then not returning anything noteworthy except shrugged shoulders, does not help things forward. It frustrates our most valuable volunteers, those that are investing their free time to *multiply*. I say better set aside a defined budget (of whatever size!), plus KPIs to which events need to qualify for being sponsored, or leave it alone. Thanks for considering.

We'll have a Webplatform Docs community call today, 20 May 2014.
The call will take place at 1700UTC (13:00 ET / 10:00 PT), on the
regular phone line and IRC channel [2].

Telcon Info:
  Zakim Bridge: +1.617.761.6200
    VOIP: sip:zakim@voip.w3.org<mailto:zakim@voip.w3.org>
  Conference code: 3627 ("DOCS")
  IRC Channel: #webplatform

Anyone can call in free of charge by using a SIP client [3]. The meeting
minutes will be made public.

Can I get a volunteer to scribe?

(I was out at a conference most of last week, so I don't have any urgent
topics.)

Agenda:
* Infrastructure update
* Annotation update
* Doc Sprint debrief
* Review of open action items
* Any other topics?
