Yep. As I have discussed this many before, Bitcoins cant be stopped but it can be counter-offered by the right Government entities. If I was in a decision making roll in the Government I would NOT try and regulate bitcoins, I would declare it private currency, then I would counter-offer with a US backed virtual currency. Poof, sit back and watch bitcoins (and others) start to fade away. Unfortunately the US Congress are technically challenged. By the time they realize this and react it will likely be too late. Most certainly when the younger technical generations reach Congress they will be more open to this. IMO, Canada has more agility than the US and is taking the right steps to counter-offer bitcoins. I would expect more Governments to do this. Canada is already asking for developers to start implementing software to support MintChip.
