Hi folks, It completely slipped my mind, as well as everybody else's mind on the call yesterday, that we needed to discuss appointing a Chair for the group to ensure that we're following W3C process. The Chair's duties would include everything that I have been doing so far (processing paperwork, organizing meetings, ensuring minutes are recorded and published, ensuring we're following W3C process, etc.) We had discussed this issue before and had chosen not to have a Chair as the group didn't seem like it needed one yet and because I had volunteered to take care of all of the paperwork. There are a couple of options that I can see: 1. We perform a straw poll of the group, taking volunteers for the position of Chair and then seeing who the group picks as its Chair. 2. I could volunteer to Chair, since I've been doing all the grunt work that this position entails and am familiar with chairing a W3C group. If there are no objections, I'd be listed as the official contact for the group per W3C process. 3. We could have two chairs that alternate the duties listed above. 4. We could oppose the W3C requirement for picking a Chair because we don't think it applies to this group and lobby them to create a "Facilitator" position instead. 5. Any other options?
