Dear Web Payments Interest Group: Happy New Year! Since the IG was formed in October, 2014, specifications and discussions in the payment area have advanced rapidly within the W3C. Most of that activity can be tracked back to groundwork initiated in the IG. Our mission of identifying standardization opportunities for W3C continues to be important. I'd like to encourage you to participate actively in the group in 2017. Below you'll find information about current activities to join and how to channel your ideas for new activities. Our next meeting will be on January 9 at our usual time of 10:00AM Eastern Time, US (agenda will follow). I look forward to working with you in the coming year, David Ezell =================== INVESTIGATION 1) REGULATORY LANDSCAPE. What topics do you think the Interest Group should be discussing? Which ones would you like to champion? The Vision 2017 Task Force was created[1] to review the Interest Group's Vision document [2] and develop a proposal for Interest Group objectives and deliverables in 2017, including a revised charter for the Interest Group. (The current charter expires on 30 September 2017.) The Task Force plans to meet several times in January; Ian has proposed [3] January 12, 19, and 26 at 9:00am ET.
