Hi all, David, Erik, Stephane, Jean-Yves, and I just had a quick meeting related to a source control solution for this group. The outcome of that discussion is a proposal for how we proceed in this group wrt. source control. Here are the key points that went into the decision: 1. W3C is going to be retiring the CVS and Mercurial source control systems in the near future. 2. W3C Systems Team plans to replace Mercurial with Git. 3. We already have scripts to synchronize Github down to W3C's Mercurial repository. So, the proposal is this: 1. The Web Payments IG uses Git (and Github) for source control. 2. Github will by synchronized to W3C on a regular basis (daily/hourly). 3. By-and-large, only the document editors will need to learn and use Git/Github. The rest of the group will provide feedback/input mainly through the mailing list and the wiki. 4. When W3C migrates to git, we will use whatever synchronization protocol the W3C systeam puts in place. If anyone has any concerns with this proposal (or support for it), please speak up. -- manu -- Manu Sporny (skype: msporny, twitter: manusporny, G+: +Manu Sporny) Founder/CEO - Digital Bazaar, Inc. blog: High-Stakes Credentials and Web Login http://manu.sporny.org/2014/identity-credentials/
