Re: Goodbye from Domenic

Hi Domenic,

On behalf of the broader WebML community:

Thank You for your significant contributions in this fast-moving space. You've established a solid foundation for built-in AI APIs grounded on your vast experience in designing Web APIs at the core of the web platform. The new contributors and editors will greatly benefit from all the guidance you’ve shared over the years. You’ve been a role model and a go-to person for many in this community.

Please enjoy your future adventures and the next chapter in life!

Cheers,

-Anssi (WebML WG/CG chair)

Hi WebML community,

I wanted to let you know that I'm retiring soon, with my last day being 2025-09-26. Although it's tempting to stay involved in web standards, I'll be doing my best to start a new life chapter and leave all that behind. In particular, I won't be attending TPAC in November.

For the WebML CG specifications that I currently edit, my team at Google is in the final stages of identifying my replacement, and so we'll definitely have someone lined up to take over by the time I'm gone. I plan to continue working on this space until the last minute, so feel free to ping me with any issues or things we want to get resolved.

Thank you all for welcoming me into the WebML CG and larger community. It's been a privilege working together on bringing these exciting APIs to life.

P.S. I recently wrote on my personal website about the built-in AI API design<https://domenic.me/builtin-ai-api-design/>, which folks on this group might enjoy. Subscribing to my website's feed is also a good way to keep in touch with my future adventures.
