Hi, I joined. Those who know me well may have seen me go on about voting systems. I joined in part because I support the overall goals of the project, and in part because I will be bound to vote against it in its current shape. And a lot of that is to do with the way that representatives are chosen. I have 4 basic areas where I think there needs to be work: 1. "The one vote - most votes wins" proposal. For me this is an absolute stumbling block. 2. The lack of a mechanism for webizen representatives to seek feedback on issues. I think we can do better than the current proposal, without introducing major changes that frighten anyone. 3. The lack of any accountability for their responses I think it is critical that Webizens know how their representatives voted. 4. How many representatives should there be? I have a proposal... I'll write separate threads for each of these. cheers Chaals -- Charles McCathie Nevile - Consultant (web standards) CTO Office, Yandex chaals@yandex-team.ru Find more at http://yandex.com
