Jacopo has said he will be stepping down as chair on 22 April 202. We thank Jacopo for his contribution and wish him the best with whatever comes next. FYI: It is possible to step down as chair from the *user interface*, there is no need to contact W3C staff. A gentle reminder that *community groups at the* *W3C cannot operate long-term without a chair*. That gives the group 4 weeks to get a new chair. 1. If one or more people wish to chair the group, *please reply to this thread before 22 April 2014. *IMHO any candidate should be backed roughly by lazy consensus, 2+ ACKs and no NACKs after a 2 week period. But let's cross that bridge when we come to it. Typically a CG can have between 1-3 chairs, with 2+ considered best practice. 2. If someone wants to be a caretaker chair ie "Ill do it if no one else wants to", please reply to this thread. That would offer a back stop, or chair of last resort, in order for the group to finish off some work and give it breathing space. *Please reply by 22 April 2024* 3. *If no chair is volunteers by 22 April* *2024*, let's work with W3C staff to close the group. Its a fairly simple process of contacting W3C staff. Normally there is also a grace period of up to 6 months, we will have to see what the W3C say, on that count. While I would personally like to continue, particularly for the group to define what a WebID is, there are very few active people, in the group right now, so option 3. might be the current trajectory. Please reply to this thread in the next 4 week if you have any interest in volunteering or helping out.
