Hello all, Back with another “chair’s overview” - more about these in our CONTRIBUTING.md [1] file. This week’s priorities are all about reviewing PRs. In add to PR #66 [2], which appears to be doing well and has just entered its fourth and final week of review, I’ve opened new PRs for issues #10 [3], #11 [4] and #20 [5] (each of which I’ve been making a weekly priority for the last couple of weeks): - PR #67 [6], which replaces the use of URI with IRI - PR #68 [7], which clarifies the diagram that illustrates the relationships between a WebID, the Agent it names and the corresponding Profile Document and decouples the conceptual overview from the real-life example based on TimBL’s card - PR #69 [8], which renames “WebID Profile Document” to “WebID Document" The four PRs mentioned above should resolve five of our open issues, at which point we’d be down to just five more. While it is going to take a while to get through the remaining ones, it’s likely time to start thinking about the next step in WebID’s path forward. IMHO, it might be a good idea to freeze the working draft, perhaps into a 2024 ED, and shift more of our energies towards outreach and extending the feedback loop to invested parties and active implementations. It’s taken a lot of looking inward to get to this point, and particularly to PR #66 [2]. We’ve successfully stripped our engine down to its individual parts, taken all the rust off, fixed what needed to be fixed, put it back together with a new change of oil and we’re now chugging along once again. It’s time to look outward. What do you think? Have a lovely week! Best, Jacopo.
