Re: Resigning from chair

Hello Kingsley,

Thank you for your kind support.

> I would encourage a vote that includes a majority of group participants

I’m not going to call for such a vote myself, mostly because of the inherent conflict of interest. However, I am still chair, if only for the formalities; if anyone wishes to call for such a vote, go ahead.

I would suggest, though feel free to disregard my words, to keep it relatively simple. How to handle disagreement is already well defined in our process, which is based on lazy consensus as defined by W3C Process Document [2] and defers to the latter for anything that it doesn’t explicitly address.

Something like “do you find that the progress made since 2023-11-30 to comply with our process [1] and to be a legitimate continuation of the group’s previous work?” ought to be more than enough. Also, note that the group has 73 participants [3]; it’s highly unlikely for an absolute majority of us to pitch in. However, that wouldn’t really be necessary as long as we get a decent number of people from the silent majority to speak their mind.

Just my 2 cents.

Best,
Jacopo.

PS: for those who celebrate Easter, whether in the religious spirit of it of just as a yearly occasion to gather with friends and family, I hope you had a good Easter weekend!
