I think important editor skills are to listen and then to consolidate.
My impression is that you work that way¹ (where I have difficulty
listening to things not fitting my own mental model of the discussion,
and therefore I will miss new or brittle input).

¹ which may of course simply be that you are shy or cautious, but that's
better than having my overconfidence crush opposing views, leading us
to... anything but consensus.
