Hello, public-webevents! I joined the Web Events Working Group just last week, and I realized I hadn't sent an introductory email. I'm going to be co-authoring a spec for Gamepad APIs for the web, which is a topic I've been interested in for quite a while. A bit about me: I've been employed at Mozilla for 4.5 years now, and I was a community contributor to the project for something like 5 years prior to that. I haven't historically worked on our DOM or Web APIs, but I've dabbled in various bits of the codebase so I have a general familiarity with it. I am an avid gamer, and have been for most of my life, so I've been very interested in the recent surge in HTML-based games. I've been thinking about implementing gamepad APIs for the web in Gecko for quite some time, and I filed a bug[1] about it last year. Finally this year I got to it and wrote some code, which stirred up a bit of interest, resulting in this Working Group's decision to add gamepad APIs to our charter. I'm excited to be a part of it, and I hope to get a useful spec written soon. Regards, -Ted 1. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=604039
