Hi all! Just a quick note. I've changed my mind on attribute values. I still require quotes around them, *when present*, but for boolean attributes I allow shortened attributes. When my students disregard my rule about quotes, they *always* run into markup trouble. The fact that power coders like Paul Irish can get away with such habits does not mean that my students can't. In fact, enforcing that rule has decreased related markup errors considerably in my classes. OTOH, since I lessened the requirement for attribute values on boolean attributes, I've never seen a single student mess that up. And now that HTML5 brings a plethora of attributes to some form input elements every shortening trick is welcome.
