I recently resigned from Amazon as a User Experience (UX) Advocate & Senior Web Wngineer for an AWS web console app. My original foundations lie in performant, server-side Java Servlets (JSP) with custom RMDBS (MySQL). I now mainly implement front-end client web architectures, leveraging static browser assets against dynamic, pre-existing cloud data services. I've been an in-person and virtual attendee of various conferences, including Google Chrome Dev Summit, Google I/O, and Mozilla DevFest. User experience is paramount m and the web platform supports many ways to achieve that blazing-fast UX. However, usability and performance are often sacrificed if developers spend too much time fighting complexity or confusion in their development workflows. Given my 20+ years of experience, I would like to spend my time helping the web community build better web apps. More specifically, I'd like those apps to be easier and less complex to build. Having dyslexia and other cognitive disabilities has made me better at reducing technical complexity into clear, concise, and simplified understandings for non-disabled users & developers as well. Generally, If I can reduce and understand something, everyone else seems to understand too. Better understanding leads to better developer workflows that make better engineers! Looking forward to meeting everyone and helping out if I can. Thanks!
