Dear Advisory Committee Representative, The WebCGM Working Group recently published the WebCGM 2.0 Candidate Recommendation [1] and anticipates advancing to Proposed Recommendation in the near future. On 22 September 2006, the Working Group received notice [2] of a Patent Policy exclusion period that ends 21 November. The group hopes to advance to Proposed Recommendation prior to that date, however. Per the Patent Policy FAQ (question 24 [4]), the Director generally does not advance a document to Proposed Recommendation during an open exclusion period. It is possible to end an exclusion period early (FAQ question 25 [3]) by securing agreement from all Advisory Committee Representatives of Members participating in a group. The Team has prepared a form to collect these agreements: http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/39256/webcgm2006/ Please complete the questionnaire before 23:59, Boston time on 2006-11-21 by indicating that you either agree or do not agree to end the current exclusion period early. Please note that all participating Members must agree in order for the exclusion period to end early; silence does not imply consent. If, before 21 November, all participating Members agree to end the exclusion period, the group will be able to request to advance to Proposed Recommendation. The exclusion period will end upon approval from the Director to advance to Proposed Recommendation.
