Thanks for replying Christiann. Hopfully the market for authenticators that support CTAP over MFi/EAF remains small and goes away completly over a small number of years. As the person to blame for picking the name lightning, I am also not supper attached to it. It is bit 6 in the U2F transports byte so the string in the CTAP spec could be anything to describe it. Changing the name in WebAuthn transports also would not be a huge deal. Some keys in GetInfo would report lightning as a transport but that can be ignored by browsers or not. If we want a diffrent name picking a diffrent name sooner than later would be optimal to make that change. The 5Ci support CTAP over HID on lightning and USB so that is where we want to focus ASAP.
