From the call of 2019-08-28: closed because Emil's answer seemed pretty good and we didn't have anything to add. (As an aside, I'll include something that's on my mind here: some authenticators truncate these strings at 64 bytes. Some authenticators _reject_ creation requests where these strings are longer than 64 bytes.
