RE: [webappsec] F2F Test Jam - BYOB and be ready to use the VM (attn: linux and macbook air users)

Updated test VM image now available at:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/76057758/WebAppSecTestsuite.vdi.bz2

This is just the disk image, so to use it, start the new VM creation wizard in VirtualBox, select a 32 bit Debian Linux as the machine type, and then use an existing virtual disk and select the uncompressed .vdi. (that procedure will also work if you've previously downloaded the older zip file)

By the way - if you haven't downloaded this VM yet, wait and I'll send out a new link and instructions tonight.

I managed to get some updated browsers installed on the VM, and fixed some snapshot dependencies which required a bit of tweaking to the previous image.

WebAppSec folks and guests:

I'm putting together a DVD with a bunch of tools for the test jam at next week's F2F, including a VM that mirrors reasonably well the setup at www.w3-test.org<http://www.w3-test.org>.

ATTENTION TINY-LITTLE-LAPTOP PEOPLE: If your computer doesn't have an optical drive, bring an external one, or come prepared by installing Oracle VirtualBox and the test VM this week. You can get (a little bit outdated version of) the VM using the attached torrent or by direct download at: http://kingsmountain.com/webappsec/WebAppSec-Testsuite-01.zip <-- Big thanks to =JeffH for hosting this!

DVD drive or not, if you intend to participate, I highly recommend everyone install Oracle VirtualBox in advance to save time.

https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

I'll try to include the installers on a DVD, but there are many, many Linux binaries. (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads) If you're too lazy to install it in advance, but just motivated enough to tell me what distro and platform you use, I'll include your favorite.

One final note - this is a BYOB event - bring your own browser! Last I checked, none of the browsers in the package manager for the distro I built the test VM on supported our WG's features yet. Make sure your favorite, latest-and-greatest, CORS and CSP-capable browsers are installed on your host OS so we can run some tests!

Thanks,

Brad
