I appreciate your concern about the "shippability" of the spec - but the ideas I discussed with Ben did not seem that complicated actually. Maybe you could add some feedback to that thread? (The details may be full of devils of course. It's quite possible that your preferred approach is the best way forward - to allow UAs to align on baseline functionality and claim conformance with spec version 1). -Hallvord
