The spec still has EventException and in ISSUE-179 we resolved to keep it in the spec. Both testcases and specs should reflect what will be implemented. It sounds like that isn't happening in this case. I am reluctant to land something that will have to be backed out soon and gives the wrong idea about the behaviour that we want to converge on in the long term, even if there has been a "decision" that doesn't match what people are actually going to do.
