Also, maybe relevant is this paper we published, where we found a lot of projects doing their own mishandling of the PSL (not only limited to sites and extensions, but also includes a lot of extensions and node applications). This paper is mostly us finding lots of tools using very of date lists (either because they bundle them and dont necessarily update them on first run, or they dont think to update them at runtime at all).
