The exhaustive test cases list here, enough to uncover inconsistencies in Chromium and Firefox, is pretty amazing. Please be sure to translate them all to web platform tests as part of fixing this!

(I've asked our Chromium binding experts to comment here, but I am hopeful they will be supportive of aligning on the ECMAScript / WebKit behavior. I am personally supportive.)
