@michael We can reopen if you discover that the `formatBold`/`formatItalic` are not triggered in these other situations. We don't currently have a spec that says that Cmd+b/Cmd+i need to trigger the formatting commands. It's up to the browser to decide how to provide formatting commands in a way that is consistent with the OS/platform.
