@justinfagnani The original idea (`this.attachShadow({mode: 'open-stylable'});`) would cause FOUC. I don't think it's possible to have both

* Page does not need to opt-in
* No FOUC

I think you have to pick one or the other, and the latter is far more important. I could be wrong here, please explain if so!
