I agree with the comment of @tmccombs above. And definitely add a section describing the differences between the RFCs and both valid and parsable WHATWG URLs. It makes no sense for me to put effort into this if there is a political motivation to frustrate my efforts. My father used to say that politics was a necessary evil.
